Founded in 2006 in Sydney, Australia, GYG set out to reinvent what Mexican-inspired food could mean in this part of the world. Our founders were obsessed with one thing — bringing the vibrant, soulful flavours of Mexico to Australian tables, without compromise.
From a single restaurant in Newtown, Sydney, we've grown into one of Australia's most loved food chains, with hundreds of locations across the country and beyond. But our values have never changed.

By 2010, GYG had established 10 thriving locations across greater Sydney, earning a loyal fanbase and multiple local food industry awards for quality and freshness.
GYG crosses state lines, opening restaurants in Melbourne and Brisbane. Australia's love for fresh, quality Mexican food proves to extend well beyond Sydney.
GYG officially formalises its commitment to zero artificial additives, preservatives, flavours and colours across the entire menu — a bold pledge that sets us apart in the industry.
